چکیده

We consider the possibility of wave propagation in the normally disallowed ~band-gap! region of a resonant optical medium, that is, in the band of frequencies near resonance where the real part of the frequencydependent dielectric function is negative. We demonstrate that wave propagation can become allowed by the application of a strong electromagnetic field resonant with some additional transition of the material system. The frequencies at which these effects can occur are strongly influenced by local-field effects. @S1050-2947~99!51310-3#

The Effect of Antenna Movement and Material Properties on Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in a Two-Dimensional Metamaterials

Increasing development of nano-technology in optics and photonics by using modern methods of light control in waveguide devices and requiring miniaturization and electromagnetic devices such as antennas, transmission and storage as well as improvement in the electromagnetic tool, have led researchers to use the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and similar phenomena i...

Detuned Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in N -type Atom System

The electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in an N configuration is studied under both resonant and off-resonant conditions. In a certain off-resonant condition the dark state of the four level system, which is almost the same as the resonant dark state in Λ configuration, is rebuilt. The actual system with damping is examined using optical Bloch equation, both numerically and analytica...

Electromagnetically induced transparency and wideband wavelength conversion in silicon nitride microdisk optomechanical resonators.

We demonstrate optomechanically mediated electromagnetically induced transparency and wavelength conversion in silicon nitride (Si3N4) microdisk resonators. Fabricated devices support whispering gallery optical modes with a quality factor (Q) of 10(6), and radial breathing mechanical modes with a Q=10(4) and a resonance frequency of 625 MHz, so that the system is in the resolved sideband regime...

طراحی یک ساختار فرامواد تخت با ضریب کیفیت بالا برای ایجاد شفافیت القای الکترومغناطیسی

Electromagnetically induced transparency is an optical phenomenon that is characterized by the elimination of the effect of a medium on a propagating beam of electromagnetic radiation in a specific frequency band. In this study, EIT was investigated at a proposed metamaterial with the dimensions milimeter and in the area of frequency of GHz. The computation results indicated that EIT with high ...

Controlling of Absorption and Dispersion Spectrum via Electromagnetically Induced Transparency

In this paper we examine the absorption and dispersion properties of a weak probe field via Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) in a four-level system. It is shown that under certain condition, using this model, the absorption cancellation is appeared and the medium becomes transparent to the weak probe field. It will be shown that the controlling of absorption and dispersion spectru...
